Group Homes
To help meet New Jersey's still pressing need for supervised living arrangements for adults with intellectual disabilities, Skylands has been operating group homes since 1994.
We currently operate two group homes:
- Richardson House in Fredon Township, NJ, opened in 1994.
- Randolph Group Home in Randolph Township, NJ opened in 1997.
Each home accommodates five residents. Both are located in ranch-style houses on generous sized properties in pleasant suburban neighborhoods. As the primary residences for consumers, these homes function around the clock 365 days a year. Qualified staff are present and awake whenever clients are in the homes.
Group home activities are coordinated with the work of the training center and individual programs are developed according to each consumer's abilities, potential and interests. The overall goal of both group homes is to increase the independence of consumers through learning and practicing living skills, expanding communication skills and participating in appropriate activities within the community.
